NETZON HMS NAS HIT Archive Appliance for secure long term storage

NETZON Offline Solutions
Easy and Intelligent Offline Archiving
The intelligent NETZON® HMS 8x offline cabinet is based on a 19" rack. It has 12 drawers that hold up to 8 magazines each. Every magazine is equipped with an RFID chip and stores up to 35 media, which enables a simple and secure long-term archiving of optical media. Thanks to the centralized database and sensors in each drawer, the user always keeps track of where and how many magazines are kept and the rack.
Each drawer can store up to 280 media, resulting in a total capacity of 3360 optical disks or a total capacity of 336 Terabyte (TB) in the entire rack. The NETZON® HMS 8x Offline cabinet allows an efficient storage and management of offline media.

Omega Autoloader
Professional Disc-Publishing and Media Production for Data Distribution and Archiving
The Omega duplication system is a compact desktop CD/DVD/BD production system including 2 recorders and an inkjet printer. It allows you to produce optical media in a very professional way. The included software package offers a creative variety to create and burn data on the media (CD/DVD/BD) and to print a professional label. The solid and proven robotics load and unload the 2 recorders and the printer using five bins that have space for 50 media each. The automated process ensures efficient recording and printing within one controlled process.
Media handling
Defective media are automatically recognized and can be placed into the defined reject bin. 150 discs can be produced without manual intervention by using a reject bin. 200 discs can be reduced with defective media placed into the normal output bins. The loading mechanism and printer are integrated in a dust protected desktop case. Omega‘s input capacity and throughput of about 35 CDs per hour of full-faced printing is the ideal solution for small series and the on-demand production of individual discs.
Print Quality
The inkjet printer in the Omega is very reliable with its outstanding properties and print speed. The resolution of up to 4800 dpi gives a professional look to your printable media. The printing is done with the smallest possible ink drop size of 3 picolitres using innovative HP Photo Technology. This is a process to optimize the color inkjet printing resolution, while providing low ink consumption, higher print quality and fast drying time. The printer uses high-tech inks which assure the highest print quality, stability and the support of the most different print media in the professional environment.
Network Integration
The Omega is available with an integrated control PC and can be used as a stand alone solution or in a local area network. All common CD/DVD and BD media formats are supported.
The Omega is very easy to install, you just need to connect the device to the network and use the preinstalled PoINT Publishing or Archiving Software. With PoINT Publisher NG you receive a perfect solution for CD/DVD/BD media production and label printing. Media production can be controlled by Windows, web clients and integrated into existing workflows. Automate applications with scheduling by using the Batch Interface or Event Controlled Recording options. With PoINT Archiver you receive a solution for network-wide, automated file based archiving within a two tier storage architecture (HSM architecture). Files are archived, migrated, duplicated, mirrored or deleted according to policies, which can be configured by the user.
PoINT Publisher NG option
PoINT Publisher NG offers automated and professional media production with a perfect label print design for seamless integration into existing workflows and applications. PoINT Publisher NG can be used for versatile applications ranging from single-unit solution to high availability, network-wide and fully integrated media production.
PoINT Archiver option
PoINT Archiver identifies files based upon defined policies, and copies these transparently from Windows NTFS based storage systems and NetApp FAS systems to the Omega Pro Publisher as a DR (disaster recovery) copy. Hash values (digital fingerprints) are automatically generated for each archived fi le, encrypted and stored in the database as well as on the archive media. Deleted or modified objects may be easily identified, and the authenticity of archived data can be proven at any time using administrative logging and audit reports.
Data Replication
Data can be archived redundantly to up to four different storage devices which if required may use different technologies. Data replication is automated and transparent to users and other applications. Furthermore PoINT Archiver offers functionalities for data migration between archive devices and replication devices and for fail over and disaster recovery in case of archive device failure.
Off-line Media Management
The full benefits of optical based devices become obvious with the off-line media management of PoINT Archiver. Off-line media are managed within the internal database. The integrated search function identifies the media which contains specific files and file versions so that the administrator can locate and retrieve archived files.
SDK - Software Development Kit
The Software Development Kit (SDK) can be used by system integrators to incorporate the functionality of PoINT Archiver into applications via a suitable programmers interface (API).
