CD Jewel Case Insert
There are many different varieties of
jewel cases and inserts for jewel cases for sale...
 Jewel
Case inserts are the paper inserts that describe the contents
of the accompanying CD. Usually these consist of a booklet & traycard.
They can also provide additional information to accompany
your CD insert. There are literally
thousands of designs you can have printed on your inserts.
As long as they are within our specifications we can print
it for you on all of your inserts!
Many people confuse the
term duplication and replication. For runs under 1000,
the term duplication is appropriate, this is what we specialize
in. CD and DVD duplication uses CD-R’s and DVD-R’s, which
are recordable. If questions arise as to the longevity
of a CD-R or DVD-R, know this — discs can last for many
years (up to 150) if treated properly. It is not advisable
to leave a disc upside down in bright light or the sun
for a long time (But this is just common sense!). Under
normal circumstances, a recordable disc will perform just
as well as a regular one.
For replication, Total Media
will verify all data making sure it meets the customer's
specifications. Then, on a special glass disc covered with
photo-resist, a laser beam modulated according to the information
on the DLT tape “writes” the data onto the disc by creating
chemically-etched pits. From this glass master, a “father” (metal
master) then “mother” (negative sub master) and finally “baby” or “stamper” is
created using a process called electroforming. The stamper
is the metal master that will be used in the molding machine.
A CD is comprised of two polycarbonate substrates bonded
together. To form each substrate, molten polycarbonate
is then injected into the molds and compressed against
the stamper to form the pits (data) which are able to be
read in your CD or DVD player. The two materials are then
bonded together to form a finished CD or DVD.
